Brand identity
Using strategy and creativity to encourage a nationwide love of reading, writing and storytelling.
Pop Up Projects is a wonderful organisation. Yes, we say that about all of our clients. But Pop Up deserve extra special praise. Their vision is for a more literate, creative society where reading, writing and storytelling are widely valued, enjoyed, practiced and celebrated. To achieve this vision, they work collaboratively with educational, literary and cultural organisations to enable children, empower teachers, and engage families from all walks of life to read more widely, write more creatively, and develop visual storytelling skills. We have worked with Pop Up since 2018 across a wide range of projects, from the redesign of their nationally distributed magazine to the branding and launch of Pathways, their unique two-year illustration programme for talented and ambitious artists from diverse backgrounds. We hope we’ll be working with them for many more years to come.
Dylan Calder“From their very first project with Pop Up, Baxter & Bailey just got us. They have that rare combination of strategic insight and creative flair. We’re so thrilled that we found them.”
Our redesigned Pop Up Magazine was distributed to schools nationwide in 2018 and 2019, reaching 1000s of young readers, their parents and teachers. The Pathways programme, designed collaboratively with the House of Illustration, launched successfully in 2019 with a first, full cohort of talented young illustrators and image-makers.
Special thanks to Dylan Calder, the powerhouse behind Pop Up. What a wonderful, collaborative and creative set of projects we’ve tackled together. We’re thoroughly enjoying the journey – in fact, the pathway – you’ve invited us to accompany you on.
