Recharge, reflect, switch off
I don’t really need to say that these have been ‘challenging times’. The phrase has become a cliché, not even closely reflecting the chaos, drama and unpredictability of the past year. But, for want of a better phrase, ‘challenging times’ is the one I’m going to stick with.
Happily, our tenacious little creative agency has weathered the worst of it, and we feel like we’re emerging from the bunker, intact and ready to get back into the swing of things. We’ve navigated a path through lockdowns one, two and three, retained the whole team and even added a new member (hello to brilliant new front end development whizzkid Alex Reid). We’re busy again and delivering some lovely and significant projects. This feels like something to be celebrated.
Like many of our clients, we’ve worked from home for much of the past 12 months or more. For us, ‘home’ has meant houses and apartments in Brighton, Hove, Eastbourne, East London, Lewes and Ayrshire. We even coined a phrase to describe our new flexible working method: together, apart.
And while a flexible way of working has lots of advantages – many of which we’ll be seeking to permanently keep hold of and evolve – the challenges have taken their toll on the whole team. To go a little way to acknowledge the Baxter & Bailey team for their focus, commitment and support for each other during the past few months, Friday 11th June 2021 will be our first ever Recharge Day. This means that the BB studio will be closed for the whole day, to give the team a chance to recharge, reflect and switch off.
Here’s to fewer ‘challenging times’ ahead.
