London Soundtrack Festival website
A brand new music festival celebrating sound on screen had to hit all the right digital notes.
We’d gone all-in on bold typography, motion and colour for our London Soundtrack Festival brand identity. Now we needed to deliver a website to match.

Context
Legendary composers? Check. Epic soundscapes? Check. Iconic venues? Check. A fast, fluid and flexible website? That’s where our digital team came in. With the brand identity taking shape beautifully, we were tasked with designing and building the new digital home for the festival. As this was the first – of many, we hope – we knew we had to create a platform which would have an immediate impact, while leaving plenty of room to scale and grow into the future. And with motion being such a rich part of the identity, we saw the perfect opportunity to flex some modern code-driven animation skills.

Solution
We worked closely with LSF to fully understand future ambitions for the site – and then helped prioritise which things were needed to launch the festival online. This made sure that whatever we built would be useful for a long time to come. For launch, we focused on creating an inspiring and beautiful listing layout with clear information and booking links, using elements from the new brand identity to create movement and space within the layouts. Built on a custom WordPress backbone, we layered in carefully crafted, responsive code-driven SVG animations to bring it all to life while keeping performance optimised.

Impact
We launched the site and it was immediately featured across several high-profile press channels – including the NME – and even with the boosted traffic it kept its cool. The site has played a vital role in not only spreading the word about the inaugural festival, but also serving pragmatically as the primary destination for information, tickets and updates. And we’re delighted to share that for all the many colours of the brand identity, it truly shines green – scoring a fabulous A on the Website Carbon Calculator. Encore!
